Sailfish OS
A Linux-based, gesture-driven mobile operating system from Finnish company Jolla, with an optional layer for running Android apps.
Sailfish OS is a mobile operating system developed by Jolla, a company headquartered in Finland and founded by former Nokia engineers. It is built on Linux and the Mer/MeeGo heritage rather than on Android.
Sailfish features a distinctive gesture-based interface, strong independence from US platforms and an optional proprietary compatibility layer for running Android applications, with licensing aimed at both consumers and corporate or government users. As a Finnish-developed mobile OS it is a European alternative to Google Android and Apple iOS.
