MetaGer

Germany
EuEu HostedOpen Source

A German non-profit metasearch engine that blends results from several sources while recording no IP addresses or personal data.

MetaGer is run by the non-profit association SUMA-EV in Hannover, Germany, in cooperation with the local university, and has provided privacy-respecting search since 1996.

It anonymises queries from the outset, keeps no IP logs and runs entirely on servers in Germany, with its source code published as open source under the AGPL. As a European alternative to Google Search, MetaGer offers transparent, community-governed metasearch instead of commercial tracking.
