A privacy-first AI assistant from Swiss company Proton, with encrypted chats, no logging and no use of conversations for training.

Lumo is an AI assistant from Proton, the privacy company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, behind Proton Mail and Proton Drive. It runs on open-source language models hosted entirely within Proton's own European infrastructure rather than third-party providers.

Lumo keeps no logs, encrypts saved chat history so even Proton cannot read it, offers a ghost mode for ephemeral sessions and never uses conversations to train models. Hosted in Switzerland and Europe and usable without an account, it is a confidential alternative to OpenAI's ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini.
