eTranslation is a machine translation service provided by the European Commission, whose relevant services are based in Brussels, Belgium. It was built to support European public administrations, SMEs and EU-funded projects with secure translation across all official EU languages.
eTranslation offers text and document translation among the 24 official EU languages plus several others, hosted on European Commission infrastructure with a strong focus on confidentiality and data protection. Access is restricted to eligible users such as public administrations, but for those who qualify it is a sovereign European alternative to Google Translate run by the EU itself.
